As discussed above, there are two major ways of removing cover photos from your Facebook account which are from the Facebook app and from the web.
Here’s how to Remove cover photos using the Facebook app
- Open the Facebook app and sign into your account
- Click on your profile picture close to the “what’s on your mind” box to open your profile page
- On your profile page, tap on your cover photo behind your profile picture
- Tap on “View profile cover” to open the photo
- Now, click on the 3 dots at the top right corner of the screen
- Tap “Delete Photo” from the option to Remove the cover photo from your Facebook account.

Now, let’s see how to Remove the cover photo from Facebook using the Facebook light app
Deleting your cover photo using the lite app is quite different because you’ll have to navigate to your photo gallery and perform the delete action from there.
- Open the Facebook lite app
- Tap on the three lines at the top and click on your name to go to your profile page
- Click on “photos” from the profile menu
- Tap on the “Cover Photos” menu to show a list of all the cover photos that have been used on your account
- Tap on the current cover photo to open it
- Tap on the three dotted lines at the top to bring out the photo options
- Click on “Delete”.

- Open the Facebook web (facebook.com) and sign in to your account
- Click on your profile picture close to the “what’s on your mind” box to open your profile page

- Now, click on the 3 dots at the top right corner of the screen
- Tap “Delete Photo” from the option to Remove the cover photo from your Facebook account.

Also, deleting your cover photo via the Facebook app and web doesn’t mean that the app won’t be available in your photo gallery.
